I Love My New Camera December 30, 2008 A. Davis I've always liked Canon Cameras and thought this would be a great Christmas present for myself. I have been using my Canon PowerShot A510 3.2MegaPixels for the last 3.5 years. Comparing the two i would have to say the A510 is more solid than the A590. The newer version seems more delicate/plastic which makes me terrified of dropping the A590. It would appear that the battery cover would break off first...seems a bit too flimsy. I have dropped my A510 many times with a few minor scratches and it still takes great pictures. Access to the digital terminal on the A590 is a little tighter than on A510, they should of just left it the same. Other than that many of the functions are pretty much the same so i don't have to learn too much. I do however like the larger LCD Monitor on the A590 and the darker charcoal grey color. I am an amateur so this is a great point and shoot camera for me for all occasions. Its a bit bulky so for those who like FLAT smaller cameras...this is probably not the camera for you. The camera fits perfect in the case that came with it and leaves plenty of room to put extra batteries on the side. The pictures seem sharp and detailed so far, i have yet to really experiment with this camera. I ordered this camera Christmas Eve and received it 12/30/08. I am happy with purchase of this camera and the extras that came with it. 2.0 USB card reader, 4 GB memory card, camera case & three piece lens cleaning kit all for $132.95 with no S/H! What a deal!

The easier the better December 16, 2008 K. Donato (Kissimmee, FL) This camera is very lightweight and very easy to use. The picutres are sharpe and clear. I usually use a Canon Rebel and find this does what we wanted. It is something that you can carry in a pocket. We purchased it to use in the office and for events that we attend.
Nice camera but the bundle is iffy December 2, 2008 D. King (Tavares, FL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The PowerShot A590 is very impressive. It has a big bright screen, it does a very good job of figuring out exposure and focus, and it even shoots nice video. Buying the camera with this bundle was convenient but the value is iffy. The camera case is very tight, making it difficult to get the camera in and even more difficult to get it out so I'll be buying a bigger case (probably big enough to also hold the accessories). But even if I only use the card reader and 4GB card that came in the bundle, it still appears to be a decent value.
Canon A590 satisfied user November 25, 2008 Cavied (Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This bundle came with exactly what was advertised, my camera, the case, an extra 4GB memory card as well as a card reader (which is the best thing ever to have, as you don't have to worry about installing any software whether it be a PC or Mac OS). I've received my camera exactly five days ago and have been using it everyday. The standard batteries lasted for four days until I had to pop in my rechargeables which I find was excellent. The only thing I had to look up in the manual was how to get the date stamp on the pictures and how to take continuous pictures. It's that easy to use and understand. It has a feature like the iphone where if you turn the camera horizontally or vertically when watching pictures you've already taken, the picture turns according to which angle you've turned the camera! How awesome is that? And of course you have the option to turn that feature off. The pictures are really crisp and clear. And it's so neat and compact I just stick it in my handbag so that I can have it everywhere I go. I was really astounded by it's size. It's shape makes an amateur like myself feel like a professional because it's not the average flat boring digital camera shape. The only downside I've found is that the strap it comes with (which is an ugly cream colour when the camera is a lovely gray colour), has not adjustment on it so it can easily slide off your hand and fall. I had to take the camera strap off of my dysfunctional Fuji which can adjust firmly to your wrist, to secure your bundle of digital camera perfection. Also how long the screen takes to come back on when you take a picture using the flash. Minor setback excellent purchase for $140 bundle. Overall I'd recommend it to anyone who values taking a quality picture. You can even buy an additional lens to attach to it!
