Great camera December 1, 2008 Tyson Cecka (Seattle, WA USA) Great camera, already cracked the screen protector though ;) Still works perfectly just surprised that part was made out of weak glass.
Good basic camera November 24, 2008 setdosa (Washington, DC, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pros: The camera as such is good and you will find it useful to take portrait pictures. The battery life is great, handles OK in low light. Has a lot of best shot modes which is what most people need. Cons: I am an amateur photographer and was looking for a pocket camera that I can carry with me all the time. This is not the camera you should buy if you like taking pictures of nature especially long distance shots. The camera's aperture for some reason is tied to the zoom. It take all pictures with F2.8 by default unless you zoom in. Even when zoomed in all the way, the aperture doesn't go beyond F5.3 which is not very good in taking pictures of even a garden or a soccer game for example. Basically F2.8 means if theres a subject in focus only a narrow area before and after the subject will be in focus which means you will have poorly taken pictures. I am not sure if I should recommend this camera. The tech support wasn't very helpful either.

i'm a videographer/tv producer and shoot stuff with a sony v1u and also carry around a smaller format camera for picking up shots and random video. i formerly used a svp camera, which still works great, but only offers 4:3 images. i did a lot of research and settled on the black exilim. it shoots great video in any kind of light and sound. i don't leave home without it.
