Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Decent video camera, excellent video player   September 6, 2008

As a Digital Video Camera, this item is okay for the price, and out-performs many much more expensive models.

The still camera feature is about what you would expect from a cell phone, though the videocamera camera capability is a bit better, and certainly out-performs any cell-phone, which is a surprise for the price.

I bought it specifically as a video PLAYER, however, and it kicks butt and takes names as a player.

I have a two and a half hour commute on the train daily, and this thing has saved my sanity. I download John Stewart, Stephen Colbert and the like to the player every night, for viewing the next morning.

The only problem I have with the unit is that the software that converts the internet video files to Vivitar compatible files isn't fast; it takes about an hour to convert two and a half hours of video. However, just about any other player needs you to convert for their proprietary format, too.
